Artistic Director of the Jerusalem Ballet

Graduated from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy in Moscow. At the end of her studies, she was invited to join as a Soloist First to the Kremlin Theater, where she began her career as Lady Macbeth.


In 1992, a year after immigrating to Israel, Nadia Timofeeva won the first prize in the competition Mia Arbatova for ballet. Between 2004 and 2006 she danced as a soloist in Valerie Panov's troupe in Ashdod.


In 2004, together with her mother, Nina Timofeyeva, she founded the Jerusalem Ballet School where she taught and also performed. From 2007, with the retirement of Ms. Nina Timofeyva, she took over the artistic management of the school alongside the teaching.

In 2008, in cooperation with the CEO Marina Neeman, she founded the company "Ballet Jerusalem" in which she danced as prima ballerina up to a year 2012. Today she is the artistic director of both the Jerusalem Ballet Company and the Ballet School.

Since 2010, Timofeyva has created choreographies and shows in the field of neoclassical and contemporary ballet:

"The Shepherd and the Chimney Sweeper" based on Andersen's fairy tale, for teenagers and children;
"Manfred" based on a poem by Lord Byron;
"Allegory" based on a poem by Dante Alighieri;
And also "Puzzle" and "The Last Meeting".

In 2014, Nadia Timofeeva was awarded the Minister of Immigration and Absorption Award by Yuri Stern for excellence and achievements in the field of culture that have a special contribution to Israeli society and culture.


In 2019, the full-length ballet Memento was staged, based on The Last Dance in Auschwitz by Francesca Mann, the story of the famous Jewish ballerina from Poland.

AMORE is the second full-length ballet she created. The world premiere took place on 15.9.2020 during the lull between two corona closures at the Susan Dellal Center. The premiere was held without an audience, and in the presence of dance critics and representatives of the dance section of the Ministry of Culture and Sports only. The show was filmed with three cameras and edited as a documentation of the premiere.

During the Corona epidemic in 2020, she also created and directed "The Legend of a Ballerina", a documentary film with dance clips featuring Jerusalem Ballet dancers. The new show "The Wonderful Journey in the World of Fairy Tales" based on the legend of Hans Christian Andersen was created during the Corona epidemic in 2021.
With the opening of the cultural halls in 2021, the show Amor was successfully staged throughout the country.
