Martin, born in South Africa, received his professional training at the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco. Upon completing his studies there, he embarked on a career as a dancer. Between 1982 and 1991, he performed with the ballet companies of Liège and Antwerp in Belgium, and with the Zurich Ballet in Switzerland. With these companies, he toured Europe, the United States, South America, and the Far East.

After retiring from the stage, he returned to South Africa, where he continued to develop his skills as a teacher, expanding his expertise in the Vaganova and Cecchetti techniques, as well as in Pilates and injury prevention. He successfully prepared his students for international competitions and auditions for ballet companies.

In 1996, he founded the dance company Ballet Theatre Afrikan, which he led until 2008. Under his direction, the company achieved success in performances both in South Africa and abroad, earning recognition and awards.

As a choreographer, Martin created full-length productions and short works in the classical and neoclassical ballet styles, showcasing his skills in production, set design, costumes, and lighting. Additionally, he served as a judge in competitions, was a member of dance committees, and developed training programs for dancers and teachers.

Martin immigrated to Israel in early 2022 and became an integral part of the local dance scene as a teacher, rehearsal director, and competition judge. After joining the ranks of Ballet Jerusalem, where he worked as a teacher for both the company and its school as well as a rehearsal director, he was appointed Deputy Artistic Director in 2023.
