The show explores the character of magician and stunt performer Erik Weisz, who rose to fame under the name Harry Houdini.
Houdini’s daring escape acts—freeing himself from handcuffs, chains, and ropes while suspended upside down from great heights or submerged in deep water – thrilled audiences and pushed him to increasingly complex stunts.
What drove Houdini to risk his life in that way? Why did he repeatedly stage acts of binding and release? And what were the true shackles he was trying to escape from?
